It is with sadness that we report on the passing of a long time automotive industry friend and all round great person. Aaron Franklin passed away on 01/04/12 from a motorcycling accident whilst out riding his beloved Ducati.

Aaron had long been known to several members of the MRT team due to his various job roles within the automotive scene and all round love of motorsports. Most notably was the time he spent working for DBA (Discs Brakes Australia) who are one of our key suppliers. It was during this time that all of our present and past MRT staff spent numerous occasions working with him. He was always happy, smiling and only too willing to lend a hand or idea to solve our problems and requests. For this we all thank him greatly.

MRT members attended his funeral to show our respects and say farewell. We would like to use this opportunity to not only thank him once again for his help over the years, also to convey our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We are all grateful for having the chance to work alongside of Aaron.

Editor’s note: I'd like to extend my own extra thanks and appreciation to Aaron for the times he came to the MRT workshop and would quite happily talk technical details about the design and manufacture of DBA discs, as well as anything relating to motorcycles (especially Ducati) in general. I'd ask him endless questions and as a showing of his passion for the topic, as well as his friendly personality, he'd always answer them to the best of his knowledge and with a grin. From one motorcycle fanatic to another, ride on Aaron.
